Nine years building and running production systems: web and mobile apps, payment products, data pipelines and, more recently, AI workflows with human review. Today I build open-source digital health systems for ministries of health in West and East Africa.
What I do
Most of my work serves public-interest programmes: users on mobile data, several countries and languages, and data people need to trust. I like systems teams can keep running: simple where possible, measured, documented.
Web and mobile apps (React, Flask, Node.js, Flutter), shaped with stakeholders and tested with real users. Search, payments, integrations, EN/FR, offline-first.
PostgreSQL pipelines, dbt, data quality and deduplication, Superset dashboards, DHIS2 and OpenFN integrations.
RAG, multilingual embeddings, offline models and AI agents that prepare the work while people keep the final decision.
Hands-on lead: code review, CI/CD, mentoring developers and training partner teams, in English and French.
AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and monitoring: systems that deploy safely, stay up and recover fast.
Experience
AI-enabled workflows for health programme teams, with human review and safeguards; RAG and offline models in digital health tools for low-connectivity settings.
Community Health Toolkit (web and Android), national deployments in West and East Africa, data pipelines and dashboards, DHIS2 interoperability. Mentoring developers and training partner teams.
Led a team of five engineers: backend redesign, CI/CD and monitoring, financial data pipelines, A/B tests with product and UX.
